REIKI Integrative Health Care Video
http://reikiinmedicine.org
Pamela Miles explains how Reiki can help you feel better and safely manage symptoms such as pain, anxiety, and fatigue, even if you are being treated for a health condition. Reiki is safe for people of all ages. It strengthens wellness and self-healing, and can be used to support any needed medical care. You can receive Reiki treatment from a professional or a friend, or learn to practice on yourself.
@astudyofeverything ...
@astudyofeverything I'm sorry if I have misunderstood you. But whatever you mean by saying that we are always in the age of mysticism, the fact is that there are only a handful of people living in that state right now, and so it is very much a future coming. According to the materialistic science itself, it does not make sense to call it materialistic. I'm referring to the belief that man is a biological machine and that consciousness is an epiphenomenon. Hence the denying of mysticism.
@ReikiMedicine So I ...
@ReikiMedicine So I took a random paper you published from your website. I found Reiki for Mind, Body, etc published in 2007. You state - "twenty-minute Reiki treatments self-administered or received from another Reiki student significantly reduced the anxiety and pain reported by outpatients learning to practice Reiki in classes held at an inner-city HIV clinic." The paper you cite here clearly says "It is not possible to describe any direct medical benefits Reiki has provided this patient.."
@winstono75 ...
@winstono75 Furthermore, what do you mean by *materialistic* science? If you apply our modern definition then the phrase 'materialistic science' makes no sense. If you apply a subjective definition, then although it does make sense, you need to make yourself more clear when throwing those words around. I think I know what you meant but I could take your approach and go on a rant about that not making sense but I can see the point you are trying to make and so I refrain.
@winstono75 No, you ...
@winstono75 No, you misunderstand what I'm saying here. I said, there is OVERLAP, of course they aren't the same. Did you read my last sentence - we are ALWAYS in the age of mysticism i.e. there is no conflict with science. I can't believe I'm arguing FOR my own opinion here. I completely AGREE with what you just said. I just wished you had read what I said more carefully. Of course religion and spirituality overlap and they are, as you say, DEFINITELY not interchangeable words.
@astudyofeverything ...
@astudyofeverything No, you make a severe mistake in thinking that mysticism and religion are interchangeable terms. Mysticism is important for the development of humanity, and its value needs to be recognized instead of being lumped together with religion. There is no conflict between mysticism and real science. We have today, however, a strongly materialistic science which thinks that all spiritual pursuits are at the same level as religion.
@ReikiMedicine ...
@ReikiMedicine There are *scientific, medical* journals... and then there are scientific, medical journals. In the context of Reiki healing, the statement "I've published in peer-reviewed journals" is about as nourishing to the pursuit of truth as saying "Other people believe what I believe". I'm not some ignorant fool either - my mother practices and has taught me enough to conclude it is pseudo-science. Why also did you remove griff868686's comment above?
@winstono75 ...
@winstono75 MYSTICISM is the pursuit of communion with, identity with, or conscious awareness of an ultimate reality, divinity, spiritual truth, or God through direct experience, intuition, instinct or insight. RELIGION is the belief in and worship of a god or gods, or a set of beliefs concerning the origin and purpose of the universe. What I meant was religion but you can definitely see enough overlap between the two to understand my point. We are (technically) ALWAYS in the age of mysticism.
@griff868686 Don't ...
@griff868686 Don't confuse mysticism with religion. It's like comparing Jesus with Christians. Mysticism incorporates reason but much more. We are in the age of reason, mysticism is ahead...
@MrProweed I am not ...
@MrProweed I am not usually into spiritual stuff, but I do believe in reiki. I have done it, and it is so amazing. I don't know if it is the heat and relaxation, or if chakras and energy and all that exist, but it is amazing either way....
Not for everyone ...
Not for everyone though. Is it safe to say relaxation is the basically only treatment offered by reiki?
I've had some sessions, I imagine a normal massage would do the same thing. Mind you, it didn't work for me because I HATE people touching me, or being anywhere near me, so it's impossible to relax. So I'll guess I'm not the best candidate for reiki.
@JenniMystic You ...
@JenniMystic You haven't been in doctor or dentist offices much! lol! Drug reps give free samples all the time that get passed out to patients free. But it's a sad state when the health value of something is measured only by monetary price. It truly is a valuable gift to receive a free Reiki session. If nothing else, it's at least an hour of someone's time & energy focused solely on you, not to mention their commute & likely space rental costs. Reducing stress is often how healing works anyway!
@MrProweed There is ...
@MrProweed There is actually alot of proof. There i science proving it if you research it.
You should have ...
You should have mentioned that a person needs to be attuned in a reiki to be a practitioner, personally I am attuned to usui reiki one and two. Thank you for the video :)
watch in my channel ...
watch in my channel my reiki music
@ReikiMedicine I ...
@ReikiMedicine I got it. 0 money put in reiki - hundreds of dollar paied by patients.
@JenniMystic It's ...
@JenniMystic It's funny that what you said in an attempt to discount Reiki--that it is relaxing--is actually an important part of why it is so effective. When the body deeply relaxes, self-healing is optimized. I hope you enjoy your session. You are lucky that someone offered it to you (perhaps to raise money for a good cause?); most practitioners charge for their time.
I just won a free ...
I just won a free Reiki session after putting my name in a draw. If it had any medical applications there wouldn't be free sessions. You don't see people handing out meds or physiotherapy etc for free. That said, though, it looks really relaxing, and I think that's what is doing all the healing if there is any at all.
@ReikiMedicine It's ...
@ReikiMedicine It's a shame, Reiki was used in Catholic hospitals until 2009...now it's claimed to not represent Christian ideals....which upset me since I'm catholic. However, I still use reiki because it helps my mother’s knee pain. I see nothing wrong with it; it's soothing and relaxing.
@MrProweed I can't ...
@MrProweed I can't vouch for the people you know, I only know what I was taught. Again, really seems like you're just looking for an argument. Maybe you're trying to work out some other problem you're dealing with by fighting with a stranger about something that clearly doesn't matter to you. What are you hoping to achieve with this conversation? If you don't want reiki then don't get it, but don't use it as a proxy issue for some other problem you're having. No one is forcing it on anyone.
@meathena Nice ...
@meathena Nice straw man, but now you're saying that your body does all the work then what good are you? All i have to do is take care of myself and if i do get sick i will use western medicine alone, which depending on the condition it will probably clear up just as fast if i were to do all of those things and incorporate reiki.
and in my area two practitioners claim reiki has no limits to what it can heal what is the validity of this.
@MrProweed No I'm ...
@MrProweed No I'm not saying that it takes credit for western medicine. It really does just seem like you're looking for an argument and jumping to conclusions to prompt one. Please pay attention. Nobody claimed that things can be solved with "reiki alone" as you say. It's supplemental, like when you put a band-aid over a cut. It helps, but your body does all the work to heal the wound. Would you turn down a band-aid just because you didn't want it to take credit for healing the wound?
@meathena so you're ...
@meathena so you're saying that reiki takes credit for western medicine, I'm seriously not trying to be mean or hateful I'm only saying that, I think your argument is likened to if someone were say, on fire and you told them that while their fire can be put out with reiki alone you should also try a regiment of water and stop drop and roll, but it's not the stop drop and roll acting alone it's the coupling of the two, while in reality it is only the water and stopping dropping and rolling...
@griff868686 Reiki ...
@griff868686 Reiki treatment is already offered in many prestigious hospitals, as mentioned on the video, and the list is growing as more hospitals learn of Reiki and see that it helps patients without interfering with medical treatment. Patients who are less distressed have better medical outcomes.
I'm not interested in convincing anyone of anything, but if someone wanted to educate himself, medical papers and a credible, rational approach to Reiki are available on my website.
@ReikiMedicine The ...
@ReikiMedicine The majority of Western civilizations don't subscribe to Reiki because if it were so useful it would be in every medicial institution in the world. Could you give me an article which you think best convinces a skeptic of its uses please?
@griff868686 If ...
@griff868686 If your accusations were based in fact, I wouldn't have papers published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
@ReikiMedicine So ...
@ReikiMedicine So we've established that regardless of the evidence, if people find it beneficial they should be allowed to accept such practices. The problem is you are deluding and manipulating people's insecurities and misunderstanding of how the world actually works. Allowing such practicies to be carried out slows humanities ability to step out of the age of mysticism into the age of reason. Teaching people that their body is made up of vibrational energies when it isn't is very subversive.
@griff868686 I ...
@griff868686 I don't subscribe to the theories commonly circulated for how/why Reiki treatment works, but it's not necessary to agree with theories to see that people find it beneficial.
Not everyone has a soothing voice, but anyone can be taught to have a soothing touch. People feel relief from pain and anxiety without taking more drugs. Even if it were placebo, what does it matter if people are benefiting? There is so much suffering in hospitals, the patients and the staff.
@ReikiMedicine ...
@ReikiMedicine Reducing stress etc can be done just as easy as talking to someone you do in the video. I even admit listening to it has a soothing quality too it - you can't go from that to vibrational energies in the body manifesting themselves through stress and being supressed by touch alone. I admit there is a small amount of viable science going on here but it is blanketed by the entirely false causal concepts.
@griff868686 ...
@griff868686 Ernst's review said that there is not yet enough research evidence for Reiki to be recommended as a standard treatment for any medical condition. I completely agree, because as I say in the video, Reiki does not treat conditions, it balances the recipient's overall system, reducing stress and optimizing the body's self-healing. And also, research is just beginning. However, the studies that have been done have seen benefits statistically significant beyond placebo.
Claims for Reiki ...
Claims for Reiki energy have no known theoretical or biophysical basis.
A 2008 systematic review of randomised clinical trials assessing the evidence basis of Reiki concluded that efficacy had not been demonstrated for any condition. Can you spell p-l-a-c-e-b-o?
